Understanding Exercise

Below I've included a couple charts to help you track your weight management, gain or loss progress. However I must caution that it is not as straight forward as it looks. For example, If you determine by the chart that simply by dancing for 1 hour you are burning almost 500 calories, this is not an entirely accurate conclusion.

For instance, Zumba class or some other form of dance aerobics may or may not bring your heart rate up to the necessary levels and maintain this level for you to experience true weight loss. The charts below are dependent upon the individual and understanding them is regulated to understanding your own metabolism rate.
There is burning calories, and then there is burning fat. You can only burn fat when you burn calories at a rate that is above your own metabolism rate. So that an athlete, a boxer, for example, will not burn fat at the activity level of a man the same age as he who is not as physically active.
Understanding how this and likewise how your own body uniquely processes food, nutrition and the right amounts of exercise are what fitness programs are all about. In order to confidently chart a course to reach your fitness goals you need a qualified fitness specialist; whether that be a certified personal trainer, nutritionist, dietitian, or some combination of both or similar talents.
You must know what your body can do. You must know what your body cannot do. If you wish to get the results you are looking for contacting a qualified fitness specialist is undoubtedly a path worth looking into.
