Food for Thought

I sincerely believe that the condition of our minds is largely responsible for our successes and failures in life. I have seen incredibly gifted athletes fail because they were able to mentally confuse their bodies from doing what it was acutely trained to do. We have heard of surgeons making clinical errors on the operation table and business people unable to close the deal when it was theirs for the taking. It is the mind that is the common factor in these unfortunate situations and it is the mind that is likewise responsible for success on minute levels as well as incredible feats. So the idea I want to begin today is our decisions and ownership.
We make decisions based on the condition of our mind. That is to say we have the capacity to condition our minds to aid us or betray us in times of need. We therefore need to pay attention to how it is we condition our thoughts, therefore beliefs, and therefore actions on a particularly daily basis. If you run a marathon you will finish it if you have labored diligently to condition your body for the event. If you have not, you will not finish. Indeed you will fail. Our minds are inclusive in this metaphor for it is our mind that behaves our decisions and our decisions are the one thing- yes the only thing- in this world that we truly own. We do not own our lives or the lives of our families- no- God owns that. We do not own our house, vehicles, job, food or water, indeed, they all belong to the Creator. Rather ownership for us is limited to our decisions. It becomes us to understand this important aspect of life and condition our minds to behave our decisions in a matter that will give us cause to be proud owners, successful preneurs of this life we do not own but owe everything to. Cultivate the mind to grow strong with attrition. They are our decisions that define us.
